So, Jessica over at Little Baby Garvin did a blog post a little bit ago for her birthday (she turned 28) where she shared 28 facts about herself. I thought that sounded like a fun idea, so here are 30 facts about me! I decided that I would try my hand at a link-up, so post your “all about me” blog post. If you don’t feel like revealing your age, just pick any number. 🙂 Just scroll down to the bottom of the post and click the “add your link” button. Can’t wait to learn about everyone!
4. In the summer before 5th grade my family (plus a friend) went on a cross country trip in a pop-up RV. While visiting the Grand Canyon I broke my wrist at a campsite playground. Due to elevation going home they couldn’t put a real cast on it. By the time we got home, my wrist was already partially healed, so they had to re-brake. No warning, no numbing medication just a “we are just going to push on it a bit”. Not fun my friends, not fun.
5. I love Jeopardy.
6. 10 Things I Hate About You and Elf are two of my favorite movies. I can probably recite each movie.
7. I love chocolate. I mean really. love. chocolate. I often eat chocolate chips when we don’t have any other chocolate in the house.
8. As a child I was in a group called Indian Princesses with my dad and other dads and daughters in our neighborhood. I have so many found memories of camping and outings. It was a huge part of my childhood.
9. I have a mild hearing loss which is hereditary. I can hear high and low sounds, but speaking voices are often hard for me hear.
10. As a child I never moved (although many of my friends did).
11. I have lived in the same town my whole life. I currently live less than a mile from my parents.
12. I have been friends with my best friend for 24 years. She was my maid of honor, two months later I was her matron of honor. She had her daughter 6 weeks before I had Annabelle. I only wish she lived closer!
13. I hated the ending to the TV series Chuck. With a passion.
14. I love Harry Potter. I have read the entire series close to ten times.
15. I love to read in general. Getting lost in a book while curled up on the couch is so relaxing to me.
Eek… only 1/2 way there?!
16. In high school I played clarinet in the band and marching band… and yes I have actually said “this one time at band camp” without referencing American Pie.
17. I also know how to play the piano. In fact my parents are giving me their piano! I can’t wait. 🙂
18. I actually enjoy winter and the snow. I can’t wait until Annabelle is old enough to enjoy playing outside.
19. I am a terrible gardener, yet somehow, an orchid that was given to me as an end of the year teaching present three years ago is still alive.
20. In the summer after ninth grade I bought tickets to an N’Sync concert, but ended up not being able to go. The concert occurred during my youth groups annual mission trip, and I had been wanting to go on this trip since I was a child.
21. I went on the mission trip mentioned above all four years in high school. It was such a fulfilling experience. I even went on a habitat mission trip over spring break in college.
22. I wanted to be a veterinarian before I decided to be a teacher. I took an intro biology course and didn’t do so hot, so decided that a vet was probably not the best career choice.
23. In college I worked in the cafeteria. It was actually a ton of fun, and I made lots of friends.
24. I love the fact that Michigan has four seasons. It is so much fun to experience the season changes.
25. I love Fall. It may even be my favorite season. Football, apple orchards, the leaves changing colors, jeans and sweatshirt weather. Love it all!
26. I have been part of a Fantasy Football league for a few years now. It’s a lot fun!
27. I love the holidays. Now that I have a child it is so much more fun! I love making Annabelle fun outfits to wear.
28. I like plans. When things don’t go according to planned I can get a little irritated (even if it was nothing anyone could help). Have a child has helped me, but I am still working on going with the flow.
29. I Matt and like trying to be the best wife I can.
30. I love Annabelle and being a mom. It really is amazing how much they grow.
There you have it! 30 facts about me, lets learn about you!
And, what post would be complete without some pictures?
Here is a better picture of the turkey I have been seeing in our back yard. I was able to get my telephoto lens. |
