I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday! Sorry it has been so long since I have written, I feel like there is so much to talk about! Life has been crazy! The holiday time is always busy, but this year it just seemed so much more. Perhaps that is because I hosted Christmas for my side of the family. We had 23 people (two of them were babies) for dinner at our house. We had smoked two turkeys at the end of October and froze them, so thankfully we just had to warm them up. Everyone else brought a dish to pass. Overall I think it was quite a successful party.
Here are a few photos of Annabelle’s first Christmas.
As you can see she was very excited about the paper.
These pictures were taken Christmas morning. Matt and I had a blast celebrating our first Christmas as a family of three. It simply amazes me how much Annabelle has grown since March.
In other news…
I haven’t done an Annabelle helmet update in ages! The last time we were at the orthotist was December 20th, and everything still seems to be going well. Her CI is now 97% (it started at 101%). While I had hoped it would have gone down more, her head is definitely getting round. Here are some picture from when we started and now.
I feel she no longer looks like a cone head, so that’s a plus!
Finally, I’m linking up with Jessica at Little Baby Garvin for some New Year’s inspiration/reflection. Here are some questions to ponder:
the New Year & what is your plan for making it happen?
2. Many people chose a word to reflect on, live by or aspire to for the
New Year. Let us know your word, how you decided upon it & how you
plan to incorporate
3. I will make 2014 count by….
1. One of my goals for the New Year is to go with the flow. I am a planner. I am a major planner. When things don’t go according to plan I can get a bit peeved and irritated (ask Matt… although he may use a different word to describe how I get). I’m going to try to live in the moment, whether it was planned or not.
2. I love the idea of reflecting on a word for the New Year! This year I am going to remind myself how blessed I am. Too often I end up stressed (see number 1), worried about accomplishing the long list of things to be done, irritated I can’t get a long workout in… I could keep going, but I am sure you all can relate. I need to slow down and remind myself how much God has blessed me. I have a wonderful loving husband, a sweet baby girl and family (both my side and my in laws) that loves me. I get to be at home with Annabelle and watch her grow. There is so much to thankful for, it’s time to focus on the good instead of the bad.
3. I will make 2014 count by relaxing and enjoying life. It’s time to stop sweating the small stuff and focus on the good of everyday.
